Condensing unit controller kit

What is a condensing unit?

Condensing unit refers to a set of compressors and condensers that usually form a complete ventilation system together with the air conditioner and in some applications the hot water coil.

This device is actually the outer part of an air conditioning unit that releases or collects heat according to the season.

Its cabin includes a condenser coil, compressor, fan, and various controls. Condenser coils can be made of copper tubing with aluminum fins or all-aluminum tubing to transfer heat quickly.

The condenser fan is a critical component and circulates air throughout the coil to facilitate heat transfer. The compressor is the heart of the system because it compresses the refrigerant and pumps it into a coil as a hot gas.

In air conditioners, the refrigerant is cooled in the condensing unit and turns from a hot gas into a hot liquid and passes through a pipe to the evaporator coil. Then it expands and cools there. In heat pumps, hot gas is pumped directly to the evaporator coil to provide heat. The task of its control system is to control compressors, circuit pressure, and condenser fans.

Types of condensing units

It can be different according to the type of compressor (screw, scroll and reciprocating) and the type of condenser (blue or air).

Also, according to the type of operation, it can be used for the hot season (air conditioning) or for the four seasons (industrial). This company has different solutions to control its water/air type with scroll compressor and condenser fan control.

Condensing unit features

Control of high/low-pressure compressors

Control of alarms and protection times of compressors min ON time, min OFF time… for complete protection of compressors

Condenser fan control on/off or inverter

Hot Gas Bypass valve control for industrial chillers
